A lot goes into the day of surgery

When our hospital opened in is present location the routine of surgery was very different. That routine mostly involved arriving at the hospital the day before surgery for admission. Arriving on the day of surgery was just not how it was done.

These days that is all spun around. Overwhelmingly patients arrive on the day of surgery. To make that happen requires a lot of work.

We could probably all do with taking a break after that. And when you consider the work done by pre-anaesthesia crew it turns out that each and every patient has a lot of people working for them both before they arrive and throughout their stay in the hospital.

And everyone in the team is just trying to be there for the patients.
