Every year we look after children for more than 20,000 hours.

Now we want you to help us do that work.

Join our Team

For the first time ever you can join our anaesthesia team at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead as we raise money to care for our children and young people.

Our aim is to work together as a group to get 20,000 hours of sleeping or striding under our belts. Have people sponsor you along the way and get family, friends and colleagues involved so we can raise money for life-saving medical equipment for sick kids.

What is Snooze and Stride?

You probably know that doctors and nurses in the anaesthesia team look after children and teenagers having operations. We spend our time doing everything we can to keep our patients comfortable and safe when they need a procedure.

In fact, every year, we do that for more than 20,000 hours.

This year we’re asking you to join us and do that work together, just for a week.

How do you play your part?

Anyone who wants to join us can pledge to ‘sleep or stride’ to reach a total of 20,000 hours over five days.

The Snooze and Stride Challenge starts on October 12 and runs until October 16.

Sign up at the fundraising page and then pledge to add your hours of snoozing or hours of striding to the big total. Join on your own or start a team. Just join.

What can you do if you want to ‘stride’?

For this challenge your ‘stride’ can look like lots of different things. Walk, run, swim, cycle, or achieve inner zen with some yoga.

Surprise us! Just add those minutes. Having a challenge to keep moving everyday is great for you and will help sick kids too.

Or you can pledge sweet, sweet sleep.

Yes, we don’t mind if you pledge a little of your sleep to help us reach those 20,000 hours. We just want someone to sponsor you to do it. So why not try and hit the hay a little earlier in October? It will help you and help raise money for sick kids. A win win.
